The campaign account of president Alpha Condé was set up shortly after the first round of voting in the presidential elections of 2010 and was active until the second round held in November of that same year. Alpha Condé became the first president democratically elected in 52 years since Guinea's independence in 1958. In his last tweet after winning the election he tweeted: “I thank and congratulate all of Guinea for the commitment and ask to see the future with hope in a spirit of tolerance and progress.” The campaign account, still branded in the colours of his party, the PRG, has been dormant sever since.
