Togo

Faure Gnassingbé, the son of former President Gnassingbé Eyadéma has been the President of Togo since 4 May 2005.

President Gnassingbe opened his Twitter account on 27 August 2009 with a tweet outlining his “Strategy to boost rice production in Togo”. The president has only tweeted 10 times, mainly re-tweeting tweets from the official @RepublicOfTogo account. He hasn’t connected with any other world leader and the account has been dormant since October 2009.
