The government of Montenegro uses Twitter to reach out to other international bodies through its English language Twitter account @MeGovernment. The only other ministry on Twitter is the Ministry of Finance which tweets in English @MiniFinMe.

The Government of Montenegro’s Twitter feed provides daily updates on the government’s positions on current affairs and policy topics. It is worth noting that there have been numerous tweets communicating Montenegro’s stance on human rights. The hashtags #lgbt, and #me4equality are among the most commonly used. On average every tweet contains at least 1.5 hashtags. @megovernment also regularly tweets about issues pertaining to the country’s accession negotiations with the European Union and is mutually following the @EU_Commission. The account also engages through retweets and @mentions with the @UNDP_Europe_CIS, Croatia's government @VladaRH, the @EU_Commission and @NATO.
