President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff
Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff joined Twitter on 10 April 2010 and used it years mostly for electoral purposes during her first election campaign garnering 200,000 followers before abandoning her Twitter activity once elected. For more than two and a half years her account was dormant but had reached 1.8 million followers when she reactivated her account in September 2013. Dilma Rousseff tweets on average seven times per day exclusively in Portuguese and only occasionally shares videos or pictures of her meetings. 90% of her tweets are retweeted and on average 209 times, her most popular being her re-election tweet in 2014 for four more years. During the FIFA World Cup in 2014 she also used six-second Vine videos to promote the event held in Brasil pleading with her followers to transform the Cup of Cups (#CopaDasCopas) into the Cup against Racism (#CopaContraoRacismo). @Dilmabr is well connected to her peers, mutually following 18 other world leaders.
